Dymatize ISO 100 vs Elite Whey: Which One Should You Buy?

Muscle House India 0 comments

If you are choosing between Dymatize ISO 100 and Dymatize Elite Whey, the protein number won't help you decide. Both give you 25g per scoop, and both have 5.5g of BCAAs. The difference is in what the protein is made from, how many calories come with it, and how it sits in your stomach.

We import both tubs directly, and customers ask us this question more than any other. Here is how we answer it.

ISO 100 and Elite side by side

How Dymatize ISO 100 is made

ISO 100 starts as whey that is filtered to remove most of the lactose, carbs and fat. That leaves whey isolate. Part of it is then hydrolysed, which means the protein is broken into smaller peptides before you drink it, so your gut has less work to do.

In practice, that is why people with a sensitive stomach often do better on ISO 100. It is also why the calorie count is lower: you get the same 25g of protein for about 22 fewer calories per scoop than Elite. If you are counting macros on a cut, that gap adds up over a month.

One customer from Patna told us she switched because it is light on her stomach after training. Her one complaint was the price, and that is fair. ISO 100 costs more per tub than Elite, and you are paying for the extra filtering and hydrolysing.

How Dymatize Elite Whey is made

Elite is a blend of three whey types: concentrate, isolate and hydrolysed concentrate. Concentrate keeps a little more of milk's natural fat and carbs, so a scoop of Elite is slightly fuller and creamier. Dymatize uses cross-flow microfiltration, a gentle process that keeps whey fractions like alpha-lactalbumin and immunoglobulins intact.

Elite is also instantised. One scoop dissolves in a shaker after a few seconds, with no lumps and no blender. It works well in milk, in oats, or as a snack between meals when you want something that feels like food.

Which one should you buy?

Pick Dymatize ISO 100 if:

  • You are cutting and tracking every gram of carbs and fat.
  • Regular whey gives you bloating or gas.
  • You want the widest flavour choice, from Fudge Brownie to Cinnamon Churro.

Pick Dymatize Elite Whey if:

  • You want 25g of quality protein at a lower price per tub.
  • You are bulking or maintaining, so the extra 22 calories don't matter.
  • You like a thicker shake, or you mix protein into food.

If you are new to whey and have no stomach issues, Elite is the sensible place to start. Move to ISO 100 if you later find you need the lighter option.

What both tubs have in common

Both are banned-substance tested and made in GMP-certified facilities. Both carry Dymatize's Protein Ethics declaration, which says all of the protein on the label comes from intact protein. Neither tub is padded with cheap amino acids to inflate the protein number. Both contain milk and soy, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter flavour of ISO 100 also contains peanut.

Frequently asked questions

Is ISO 100 better than Elite for muscle gain?

For muscle gain, both are equal on protein and leucine. Your total daily protein and your training matter far more than which of the two you choose.

Is Dymatize ISO 100 lactose free?

ISO 100 is filtered to remove most of the lactose, so many people who react to regular whey find it easy to digest. If you have a diagnosed milk allergy, avoid both products, since they are made from milk.

Can I take Elite Whey before bed?

Yes. Elite digests a little more slowly than ISO 100 because of the concentrate in it, and the label says it can be taken any time of day.

How many scoops a day should I take?

The label serving is one scoop. Most people use one or two a day to fill the gap between what they eat and their protein target.
